The Dover Bible Fund was started several years ago as an exercise on the part of a brother who desired to make the JND Bible available as inexpensively as possible in the United States. This exercise was supported by the believers who gather unto the Lord's Name in the Christian Assembly Room in Dover, Pennsylvania, USA. We use this translation in our locality because we believe it is the most accurate translation available. For those not familiar with it, the JND translation is not much different from the King James Authorized Version. The JND translation is entirely in line with what is broadly held by most fundamental, conservative, evangelical Christians.
The exercise to provide the Bibles as inexpensively as possible in this country came about as it was found that JND Translation Bibles were either difficult to locate here, or they were very expensive. The Dover Bible Fund began with the thought of making Bibles available at our expense only, with no markup. The bookroom was not begun as a profit-making business, nor is it run on that basis now. We do not solicit funds.
Gradually additional items such as concordances and other study materials were added to the inventory. Later came the addition of ministry, the value of which we have proven locally. Today we carry an extensive inventory of materials that we believe are trustworthy and we desire to make them available to serious Bible students and those who are seeking light in the matter of the truth of the Church or Assembly as it has been recovered.
